It's the most wonderful time of the year! Kate Spade's Surprise Sale! I opened up my email this morning and I see the subject line that says: Kate Spade 75% off! Needless to say, I pulled up the website as fast as I could!
**So a little bit of a back story, Sunday I went to the Kate Spade outlet determined to buy a bag. Sadly none of them that were in my price range were ones I like. I even made my mom stalk a girl that was holding on to the one I loved! So I left the store empty handed vowing to save some more money for one soon.**
Okay back to the sale... I open up the website and scroll down looking at everyone of those beautiful bags! I was torn between two of them, but I ended up buying the Elliot Place Carmina. Regular $359 and I bought it for $99. Yes you read that right, $99.  I love that it has a long strap that you can just throw on and go. I also love that you can carry it on your shoulder.

Here are a few of my favorites from the sale

It's finally summer time!! Summer is for relaxing by the pool, shopping with friends and nights at the beach. These are a few of my favorite fashion items I will be wearing this summer! What are your summer essentials?

Untitled #8

Jack Rogers "Lauren" sandals are the perfect staple for a summer wardrobe. They can be dressed up or dressed down for any occasion. They are perfect for all kind of styles.

Nike shorts are pretty "basic", but a must for the summer! Lazy days at the house, running around town or working out they are the perfect companion to a baggy t shirt and the next item on my list...

Chaco sandals are pretty perfect for living near the water. I wear them to the pool, the beach or just running to the store. They are so comfortable and match pretty much every outfit!

High waisted bathing suits are all the rage this summer! I absolutely love my bathing suit I got for forever 21. They are not expensive and are pretty good quality. They look good on all body types and are comfortable for the beach and pool.

High neck tanks are a great staple for any summer outfit. A basic color will go with any kind of bottoms; shorts, jeans pretty much anything. I own two and I wear them all the time!

Any Lilly Pulitzer clothing item is the perfect summer style! The colors and prints are so bright and cheerful. Every time I wear something Lilly it reminds me of summer!

Essie nail polish has such cute summer polishes that will surely brighten up any outfit! My favorite summer color is Play Date, a light purple color! What's your favorite?

Having a full time job or even being in school full time can be pretty difficult. In high school I was extremely organized, in college it left for freshman year, but came back eventually. I am a huge believer in making lists, prioritizing, and having everything in order days before it needs to be. Sometimes I obviously do not get to some tasks in the time that I wanted to, but they always get done on time. Being on time is one of the many lessons that my parents taught me, if I am late for anything there is a major problem! Here are a few tips on how to stay productive in our busy lives.

Agenda
I know several people suggest getting an agenda to keep up with your different activities that you have going on, but I suggest just getting a monthly agenda. Having a weekly one can get too confusing. I always forget where I wrote something down, either in the month calendar or in the weekly section. You could also just get a weekly agenda. Monthly is easier for me because I am not extremely busy.

Make Lists
Every morning when I get to work, I make a list of what I need to do during the day. It either consists of what lessons I am teaching, what I need to copy, what meetings I have that day ect. I usually write it on a post it note and stick it to my laptop. Having your list visible is key, if you can't see it you won't be able to check them off, which feels great!

Prioritizing
You can't do everything first, so make a list of what needs to be done first and so on. If it is a big task I usually like to break it up into smaller parts through out the time that I have to complete it.

Getting a Good Nights Rest
Believe it or not, having plenty of sleep can make or break your day (shocking right?! haha) I am a firm believer in getting the correct amount of rest each night. I hate staying up late which is a good thing when you have to be at work at 7 am. Get plenty of rest before you know you have a big day coming up!

Long time no post! I have been very busy with my full time job as a kindergarten teacher, and my side job as a graduate student. I have not been out of college for a while, but it is very difficult to get back into the swing of the college schedule. To make it that much more difficult, it is all online! That is the worst to me! Not having a class to attend and keep me accountable has made me really step up my organization game!
I had to pick up a new agenda for my graduate school schedule to keep it separate from my work schedule. I recommend an agenda with monthly views rather than weekly views. It helps me to see what is coming up and what I need to begin studying and working on. I am currently using the Lilly Pulitzer large agenda to keep up with my two classes.
What I picked up next was two plastic folders to keep print outs and notes from the classes. All of the classes have the notes on their class page, but I find it easier to keep up with them if I have hard copies.  I also use file folders to keep articles, syllabus and other hand outs handy.
My classes are on Wednesday night, the professors record the lecture they are giving to the on campus class and puts it on their class site. I usually watch one on Wednesday night and one on Thursday or Friday. I am not going to lie, it has been very difficult to keep up with everything and watching the two hour lectures every week, for two classes....
I am very excited to keep going on my graduate school journey!
What are some of your study tips?

Until Next Time,

As I sit here the night before we are driving ten hours home from Kentucky I am thinking about all the necessary items that I have used over this past week and the drive up here. Road trips are always fun, but the riding/ driving part is what I always hate. Riding in the car with my niece and nephew for ten hours I have discovered that there are many things that you need to survive.

The first necessary item is a DVD player in the car. Riding in the car for long amount of time is always a little easier when you get to watch a movie. We watched so many movies on the way up that I have forgotten all of them, but I do know that they were a life saver. Even if you don’t have a DVD player in your car you can always download some movies on an Ipad or computer.

Another must have for a road trip is spodify or some kind of music service. I have the premium account for spodify and it saved our trip on the way up here. We decided to have a mini dance/singing party and my phone provided the music. When you need a break from the other people in the car, you can always pop in the headphones and zone out!

Books are always a good road trip plus. My aunt gave me a new devotional book that I will be checking out on the way home. I also downloaded the kindle app on my new mac so I will most definitely be checking out some books. Any recommendations?

Visiting places is always fun, but there is no place like home.

Happy Wednesday!

I was looking around my apartment and thinking about what I wanted to blog about today, and it hit me! Who doesn't love a DIY!
A few months before I moved into my apartment, my mom and I were talking about what I wanted to do about my headboard. I have always loved the idea of non traditional headboards. I finally decided to use a folding closet door that my cousin had in his trash pile. My mom and I painted it white and my dad hung it up! It was so easy to hang and paint and it looks fabulous!

I love the way that it turned out!

Another DIY that I found on youtube was the hanging photo strings. I was watching a youtube video about apartment DIYs and I saw that the girl had used the app Printic to print out pictures from her phone and Instagram.  When I ordered them I wasn't so sure how they were going to turn out, but they look great! These pictures were not even that expensive! 50 pictures for $20! I got the twine and little clips from Walmart.

The last DIY I have to share is the popular gallery wall.  I found these prints off Pinterest and just printed and lamented them. I eventually would like to put them in white frames, but for now I am using this cute washi tape my friend let me borrow (thanks Lauren :) ) This is a fun way to use inspirational pictures to up lift you.

What are your favorite DIYs? I would love to know! Until next time!

Fall is the time for bon fires, piles of leaves and of course football. Here in Alabama we don't really get too cold, but it doesn't stop me from breaking out the riding boots and cozy sweaters. With fall in full swing I wanted to share some of my must haves and favorites I have been loving this fall!

fall favs

Blanket Scarf
Blanket scarves are a must have for the fall/winter season. They are so versatile and make any outfit look complete.  I got mine of etsy last year and it was the best purchase I made in the fall last year. I even got my mom and sister-in-law one to match! Pair it with a basic top and riding boots and you are good to go!

Hunter Boots
Living in the second rainiest city in the United States is hard sometimes, but with cute rain boots it makes a little bit more bearable.  I have the short black matte Hunter boots and they have been perfect for the rainy weather. I am definitely going to invest in the boot socks that they have too to make them more cozy in the colder times. Yes, they are a little pricy, but worth the investment because they will last for a long time.

Vests
Vests are like scarves, pair with them with a simple outfit to make them look put together. Any kind of vest makes a plain outfit look chic and casual at the same time. I own probably every Jcrew and Old Navy vest there is (no really....) They are so cozy I just can't help it! If you do not want to spend a lot on a vest then go with the Old Navy ones. They are not as thick, but still good quality.

Tazo Calm Chamomile Tea
This tea has saved many of stressful days. After teaching 18 five year olds all day it is nice to come home and drink a nice cup of hot tea. I always put a little milk in mine just to give it a little thickness. Tea is a must have for the colder weather.

Boot Socks
Again, Jcrew and Old Navy have done it again with their camp/boot socks. They are so comfortable and perfect for lounging around the house or with a pair of boots. I actually found some in the Target dollar spot the other day and thought I hit the jackpot! They were a perfect buy for $3. These socks will save your feet from freezing in chilly weather.

Fringe Bag
I have always loved the fringe trend! All my favorite fringe bags have come from Target. I have a camel colored big bag and a black small cross body. These bags are perfect with a simple outfit that you want to snazz up.

Black Skinny Jeans
Every woman should have a pair of black skinny jeans in her closet. These pants are such a staple for the fall. I practically wear mine every week. They are so easy to pair anything with and look put together. My two pairs are from Old Navy and Forever 21. Both of them were very affordable and comfortable.

Fall Candles
What's fall without some nice smelling fall candles?! Recently I went to Bath and Body Works and snagged two of their fall collection candles. The first one I got was called leaves. It is your typical fall smelling candle, which I love! It puts me in such a good mood to come in after work and light it up and my whole apartment smell like fall. The other one I got was called leather. I know your thinking, leather? that probably doesn't smell good. Well, your'e wrong! It smells amazing! Honestly, it smells like a really good man. Weird I know, but it smells like heaven. Go get these!!

Thanks for sticking around and reading my first post! Comment down below your favorite fall essentials. Until next post!
